I tested six different brands of white paint to see how they compared in opacity.
My favorite brand is Blick Matte Acrylic, but it is not available in Canada. I did find that the Holbein, Sennelier, and Pebeo were pretty comparable. I will test the Liquitex a little further to see how it performs in my regular painting practice.
I really enjoyed your video, your first test made me laugh. Have you tried Graham paint? I don't know where you live but they are available at Hachem in Montreal and Curry's in Toronto. I find the quality good.
I love that you included the first test, Jane. Keeping it real!! And, as always, fun :) and I am wondering what you think of Golden. I use them almost exclusively because I trust their mediums.
Ha! In this investigation I was really looking for cheaper white paint that is opaque. Golden's Titanium White is great, but not as opaque as Blick's Matte White, in the Blick Matte Acrylic line. (not Blick Studio, not Blickrylic, not the other lines of paints).
I have had some spam comments lately, advertising of stupid stuff. So I am moderating comments until I can figure out a better way to prevent spam. THANKS!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzy. I will look into those brands. Always good to know what is out there.
