Continuous Collage - Composition as Process

 Here is a piece that I am demonstrating at my Composition as Process mini-workshop. Continuous Collage is one approach I take to composing. In this ZOOM virtual workshop,  I will be talking through my process on several pieces, demonstrating my various approaches to composition. Collage Demo Part 2

Here is the continuation of my collage demo from the previous post. This is not a technique demo as much as it is sharing my thoughts on composition as I work on a piece.

This is the final piece. You can see the few detail I added after the video demonstration. It is 10x10 on paper; in addition to collage I used Posca Paint Pens and Caran d'Ache crayon.

Enhancing a Color Area

Here is a short video demo on how I like to make an area of color more interesting and nuanced.  The key is subtlety, very low contrast variations on one color:
