Playing with Ink

I felt like making a bunch of STUFF today, and then cutting it all up to reassemble into collage.  So, I got out the India ink and a few other materials, the cheap drawing paper, and started. Oh, and then I brought one of my chickens into the studio, and she gave serious thought to making her own sketches. The chicken begins at about 6:52, so feel free to scroll ahead.

Here are just a few of the results, on 9"x12" cheap paper.

I will cut these up and make some collages with them.  Stay tuned for the next episode.  This is the sort of thing we'll be doing in Sketchbook Practice.

  7. This is one amazing and instructional and hilarious video. What fun! Looks like an episode from "When Artists Go Nuts!" (Okay, I made that up, but it has potential.) Amelia has real talent, except she's probably totally mad at you by now. Both of my dogs came rushing into the office barking and howling looking for the chicken I was hiding.

I love the things the two of you came up with, I love seeing an artist finger paint, and I love laughing out loud at my computer on Monday morning. Thanks!

  8. Very interesting to watch. Freeing to see how you do things, since I am new to this and am still erasing preconceived notions of "How Things Are Done."

The chicken art might work better if you spread papers on the floor, with one of them being a reservoir of paint/ink, and let the chicken wander around. (Hmmm... I wonder if it would work with cats...probably not with mine.)
