Here are my pieces in the show, called "WAX: Contemporary Encaustic Works":
If anyone wants to know anything more about encaustics, go here. If you want to take an encaustics workshop with me, I'm teaching one at Art Unraveled, on Monday, August 6; and again at Art and Soul on Tuesday, October 2. I'm offering a workshop called Paper and Wax at the Guilford Art Center in Guilford, CT the weekend of October 13 - 14.
Thanks for visiting!
congratulations on your showing Jane! They're fantastic pieces. I would love to try encaustics--they're next on my list. If you ever do any workshops on the west coast of Canada just let me know ;-) until then I'll check out your link...
ReplyDeletegreat works, Jane!
ReplyDeleteAnd you've just started working with encaustics? These are all fantastic. I was trying to choose one I liked better than the others, but can't do it. All the colors are so rich and luminous, and they have a depth of their own. Beautiful.
ReplyDeletelove love these encaustics Jane. So vibrant, and exciting. Any chance you might teach a workshop in Mass?
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to try this art form. Just have my fingers into too many pies right now. :)

Lovely work! Congratulations on your show. Although our work is very different, we have a common interest in wax processes. I see that we will also be teaching together in a couple of locations: Art Unraveled and Create Chicago. I look forward to meeting you there. If you are interested in a great encastic experience, come to San Antonio next September.... www.encausticon.com If you can't come for some reason, please do enter your work in our show! Best, Michelle Belto
