I did actually talk during the shooting of this video, but the editing of that would have been SO much more time-consuming, I thought I'd just do the visual. I'm pretty overloaded at the moment. EVERYTHING is very deliberate, just that some processes I do faster. "Deliberate spontaneity", is that an oxymoron?
Thank you as always for being so generous and sharing your process. I find you very inspiring! :-) This looks like such a meditative and relaxing process no matter the outcome.
This was so heplful--getting instructions is one thing. Watching someone DO it is quite another. Speaking of chickens, here is a quote for you: The difference between involvement and commitment is like ham and eggs. The chicken is involved; the pig is committed. Martina Navratilova (remember her?)
Yes on paper. No, colors are not premixed. Video is seriously edited. If I zoom out to show palette AND work area, it would be less detailed, so it's a choice. I mix colors as I go, and make decisions as I go.
Do you varnish the painting afterward or put a coat of get medium on ? Early in the video after you use the brayer, are you scraping with a credit card?

I have had some spam comments lately, advertising of stupid stuff. So I am moderating comments until I can figure out a better way to prevent spam. THANKS!
Love watching you work! Thank you for so graciously sharing with us!

ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI love watching you paint!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be inside your head when you are working. Sometimes you do stuff VERY deliberately, at other times not so much.
