High Flow Acrylics - and a GIVEAWAY

I've been meaning to show you this demo on Golden's High Flow Acrylics for ages, and finally got around to editing a little video and getting all the parts together.  So, here is a little video on using High Flow Acrylics.  For Golden's own video demo, go here.


I am looking forward to experimenting more with the markers; so far I've mostly used the High Flow Acrylics in the Fine Line Applicator and straight out of the bottle.

Same as above, but a different piece.  Then layered with paint

3'x3' canvas, in which I used the High Flow right out of the bottle as well as in the Fine Line Applicator.

I am offering a giveaway of a High Flow Set with Markers plus a Fine Line Applicator, so you can find out for yourself how cool these materials and tools are for expressive mark making.

All you have to do to to qualify for the giveaway is comment on this post and say you are interested.  PLUS, you have to be in the US or Canada.  Overseas shipping is to much.  If you are in Newfoundland or Nova Scotia you get better odds. 

I will post a winner on Wednesday, April 23, and it will be the winner's responsibility to check the blog, and then e-mail me with a shipping address.

    Hi Jane - I've recently began experimenting with high-flow paints also - using them on birch panels along with inks. so fun! I haven't tried the markers or fine-line bottles, but would love to.

    Have been using the high flow acrylics in markers and love the way that gives me control of making marks and lines. Hadn't thought of the fine line applicators, which would be great for more free flowing scribbles, as you do so well. Thanks for another helpful demo!

    I'm looking forward to your BAR workshop in mid-October, especially since I had to cancel out of the Rhinebeck weeklong workshop in June. Meanwhile I am really enjoying your videos and are grateful you are doing them. Only a week ago, I bought my first (and only, so far) fine-line marker and used it with Golden High Flow -- love the results. I love how you use yours; and I was delighted to watch you throwing that paint out in spatters -- what freedom!

    I like that idea as it looks like what my sewing machine does when I doodle on my fabric surfaces...very interesting and definitely worth a purchase/try. Thanks for sharing.

    Great Golden Giveaway, Jane! These are phenomenal--I have worked with some of the highly translucent High Flows but your techniques are terrific for all, including the opaques. Fine-line "drawing" on prints is so much better than trying to work with brushes...IMO.
