I have a lot of pieces to choose from, but I think these groupings work pretty well. I may switch out individual pieces. The will be mounted on 10"x10" cradled wood panel, 1.5" deep. In the above arrangements, they are spaced 3.5" apart. Any suggestions?
I will be teaching this technique using the gel plate with masks and stencils, at Art and Soul next March in Kansas City. Take a look at my offerings at Art and Soul this October in Portland!
Thanks again for all your input and encouragement on this new work.
I like this much better...
ReplyDeleteThey look amazing.
ReplyDeleteThese look incredible! Love your work! www.glimmerbug.com
ReplyDeleteI like the new finished pieces, especially the one with a bit of aqua.
ReplyDeleteI like this much better, Jane. I do have a suggestion- the bottom 4- when I squint I see 2 darker ones on the left side. What if you put one of the ones on the left, on the right. Might be more balanced like the one above. I don't know if that is constructive or this is the way you want them. Either way, I love your work and good luck with your show.
ReplyDeleteGood suggestion; thanks!
DeleteLOVE the colors in these pieces!
ReplyDeleteThey look perfect. All the best for your show.
ReplyDeleteI really like the groupings of four (which are great in and of themselves). Have you considered trying out the palest of pale green on the background? The white seems very harsh.
ReplyDeleteThese will be directly on a wall, so I won't have control over the color. But I love the idea!
DeleteVery interesting and different series Jane. I like them a lot.
ReplyDeleteToday I received No. 2 and No. 5 prints from your Fresh Paint series and I love them!
Am rushing out right now to get frames. Thank you so much for making these wonderful paintings available in such a nice variety of sizes and even cards.
Still sending postcards!

Oh, THANK YOU for buying prints! And thanks for the continued post cards. It all COUNTS and makes a difference in the profile of our little PO. With luck (we'll know next January, at the earliest) it will make them KEEP IT OPEN.
DeleteAwesome, Jane.
ReplyDeletelove your art and love this new grouping for the show.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to WOW them, they look fantastic. The groupings of four pieces will have a visual impact in a gallery space. I hope you post some pics. I can't wait to sign up for this workshop at Art & Soul in Kansas City next year. What will be your other offerings?
ReplyDeleteOh, FABULOUS! Can I come a day early and get a tour of the Nelson-Atkins?? I think the dates are March 20 - 23. I am teaching: Layering with Transparencies, Masks and Stencils (this is the one with the gel plate and shapes), Abstract Landscape; and evenings: The Art of the Postcard, Textures and Layers, and Mini-Collage. It's not written in stone until it goes up on the web site, but this is what we're thinking for now. THANKS!
DeleteHi Jane,
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked at your blog for a bit and I am totally blown away by this work! These 6X6 pieces are like jewels! Jewels on fire. Absolutely beautiful and visually compelling.
I am going to check out your Sept dates in NY!
These are 10"x10". THANKS, Sharon! I would LOVE to have you in the OMEGA workshop. Amy Stockwell is coming, and others from our online groups.
DeleteWow - these are so wonderfully simple yet bold with such rich and luscious colors and shapes. I can't wait to return from the land of graduations and get my gelli plate going again. Not to mention returning to your online courses. Thanks Jane!
