Fresh Paint Friday #4

Another Fresh Paint Friday video!  This one actually has no collage in it; I didn't plan that, it's just that the piece didn't seem to call for collage at any point.

Here are a few different stages of the piece in progress:

Covering over all that area with opaque white!

Adding line and shape

What changes to you see between this one and the final piece?

This is the finished piece.
Fresh Paint #4 is available for purchase here.  You can buy the original or choose from many different print sizes, materials, and framing options.  Thanks for visiting.

  3. I look forward to Fridays so I can watch your process, again and again. I want to be sure you know how much your videos are appreciated and how inspiring I find them week after week. They remind me that I can paint over anything and keep playing with colors and shapes until I like the result - thanks again!

  5. I'm not a painter, but I found it mesmerizing to watch how you add all the layers, makes me want to try it myself.

  6. Wow. This was great. Thank you for sharing. I have discovered the only way to get that layered look, is to add on the layers! Nicely done! I am already a follower, and you have given me great inspiration today!

  9. Love these video's Jane. Thanks so much for posting them.

I watched your new DVD again today and am still entranced. Will I ever have the time to try all the techniques???

I have one quick question. When you were doing the monoprints, what kind of paper were you using to place face down on the painted surface. It looked like a fairly large sheet but also didn't appear to be as thick as watercolor paper. Thanks in advance.

    1. Thanks, Lorraine! The paper I'm using in the monoprint demo is Cheap Drawing Paper. Look at the Links page on my web site for sources. I think in that demo I'm using 12"x18". Have fun!

    1. REALLY? That's astonishing. I had no idea. Maybe for the next one I'll just do sound effects from the iMovie program, or free music downloads. For this one I bought the music form iTunes, and credited it.

  13. It happens to quite a few. This is the message that shows up:

Unfortunately, this SME music-content is not available in Germany because GEMA has not granted the respective music publishing rights.

GEMA is the copyright watchdog in Germany...

Just bought your Collage With Colour book :-) See you around :-)
