Fresh Paint Friday #2

Here is another episode of Fresh Paint Friday.  This piece is 9"x9", acrylic on printmaking paper.  See my Links Page for information on materials I use.

Fresh Paint #2

The music is called "Envisioning Spring in December", by Jared C. Balogh.  It sure feels like December here, in March!

Here is the piece in progress:

The first layer of collage

Almost, but not quite done

  1. It's such a treat watching you work, Jane. The music choice adds to the fun. Thanks.

  2. Great music and great work. I just love how you do what you do. Do you think you could write about the brushes you use, on your blog sometime soon? I'd love to know. There are so many options in brushes and I haven't yet found something that works well for me. The best brush I have -- meaning the brush I always go back to -- is an OLD Hyplar flat. Hyplar isn't available any more, as far as I know, and none of the newer synthetic alternatives are stiff enough for my taste. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, Jane.

  4. Oh I love this. I strive and strive to do abstracts that please me but so far I've not made it. Loved the video "how to" and the music also. It sure still feels like Dec. or Jan. here in KY in March!

I am nearly finished rereading Collage Journeys and just as soon as I catch up on my ATC swaps, I'm going to start playing, using your wonderful book as a guide.

  6. This is fast becoming my very favourite day of the week. Such an insight into a very beautiful way of working. Perfect music...and very apt and well-placed applause.
