New Postcard Gallery

It appears that Facebook albums max out at 1000 images, and we reached that in our postcard project yesterday.  With some left over.  So, I created a Postcard Gallery page on my web site, divided up into separate galleries based on the day I scanned the cards.  Visit the Postcard Gallery here.  I've also updated the link in the right margin.  I will keep the Facebook Album up and begin a new one, so you can still find all the postcards there.  The volume you are generating for our little post office IS making a difference!  No decisions will be made until early next year, but this totally COUNTS!  Thank you thank you thank you for all your contributions.  I will continue to respond to cards, though I'm past the 200 mark, bit by bit.  And I will keep you "posted" on progress.  Keep the cards coming!!

Here are a few more with the post office theme. Aren't they just GORGEOUS!!!!

  3. What will you do with all the postcards? One idea is to offer them up for sale. Say a bundle of 10 or so randomly selected ... for the cost of mailing and handling.

    1. Oh, Jan, I couldn't sell them! I don't feel they "belong" to me. What I'd like to do is put them on display somewhere, as a testament to how important postal service is. Just tossing around ideas at this point, but my job now is to keep them together and keep them safe.

  4. I am happy it is helping and this has been so much FUN for so many! I am curious what you will do with them, too. Could you "wallpaper" a wall in the little post office, along with the story of the event for tourists to enjoy?

  5. Thanks for organizing all those galleries! It's such an easy way to view them, and I had a wonderful time looking at them all this morning over coffee. so much beauty and inspiration!

  6. A fabulous result, but doesn't it have to continue?...or only when the powers-that-be makes moves to close you.

    1. Oh it is NOT over! I hope I didn't imply this by my post. The PO will review our status next year, and meanwhile I will keep the district manager informed of what's going on. I will renew the call for postcards periodically throughout the year. THANKS for yours!

I have had some spam comments lately, advertising of stupid stuff. So I am moderating comments until I can figure out a better way to prevent spam. THANKS!
