The India ink is sort of waterproof when it dries, but you can still remove it with diluted ammonia, or Windex. I want to try other media on it, but not sure if its qualities would have any advantage over paper or canvas, if, for example, you used acrylics or oils on it. Alcohol inks are pretty stunning on Yupo, if you want that intense color.
